With that in mind, let's take a Friday Flashback look at 10 notable details in the Lakers' visual history. Ready? Here we go:

Fun Fact: When Jerry West represented the NBA's Western Conference in the All-Star Game, he became one of the handful of athletes who've worn their surname on the front and back of the jersey simultaneously.

Remember when the Lakers routinely wore mismatched shades of purple?

Fun Fact: Lots of players have had multiple numbers retired by multiple teams. But only Kobe Bryant has had two numbers retired *by the same team.

Lakers' gold uni has had three different number designs over the years: block-shadowed white over purple, block-shadowed purple over white, and plain numerals. Which one is best?

What does this have to do with the Lakers? This: In 2007, the Lakers played a game in throwback uniforms, complete with short shorts. But most of the players went with low socks, so their calves and thighs were exposed -- or, in the eyes of many fans, overexposed. After wearing the short shorts in the first half, they came out wearing longer contemporary shorts for the second half.

Remember when the Lakers wore short-shorts (and low socks, which was the real problem) for a throwback game in 2007?
